I know, I know, I should be working on the reviews for the new Technic sets right now, but I stumbled upon something that I had to share with you. A quick disclaimer – this is not a rumor, or any insider information from LEGO, I found something that is available to the public and everything else is my own speculation and opinion. Now let the investigation begin!
The LEGO LEGO NASA 10283 Space Shuttle Discovery set was unveiled today by LEGO, and I have to say this is truly a fantastic one! It features the Space Shuttle Discovery performing the STS-31 mission, including a detailed replica of the Hubble Space Telescope!
The set will be available from the 1st of April 2021, the price is 179,99 EUR/199,99 USD/169.99 GBP
In the video you can see the following details:
Box front and back
Exterior and interior details of the LEGO Space Shuttle Discovery and the Hubble Space Telescope
Working functions of the set
Comparison with the real Space Shuttle Discovery that is currently on display in the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center
Details about the interview with former NASA astronaut Dr. Kathy Sullivan who was a member of the STS-31 mission
Back in January after the Nuremberg Toy Fair we already knew some details about the 2020 summer wave of the LEGO Technic sets. We had to wait another 6 months to have official images about them, they first appeared in the LEGO 2HY catalog and a few days later additional official images were posted by some retailers. Here is the video I made about the sets based on the photos in the catalog:
Ladies and Gentlemen, here is the LEGO Technic Fast & Furious car you’ve been waiting for, the 42111 set is Dom’s Dodge Charger! It has 1077 pieces, it can be preordered on lego.com from today for 99,99€ / $99.99 and it’ll be available for purchase elsewhere from the 27th of April 2020.
Here is my detailed preview of the set based on the press photos:
The latest iconic car model added to the LEGO Creator Expert line is the Fiat 500! Fans will enjoy the challenging building experience offered by this model kit based on the Fiat 500F legend from the late ‘60s, and will appreciate all the authentic LEGO brick details, such as the luggage rack with suitcase, detailed interior, and opening roof, doors, hood and tailgate.
The LEGO Powered Up system has great potential but the app has one major flaw – it has zero documentation available. I created a detailed code block guide that has all blocks listed in the current version of the app.
You can access the block guides from the top menu or here as well:
Today is the first day of the Spielwarenmesse 2020 in Germany, and LEGO is holding a press conference right now. Exactly one year ago we saw the announcement of the LEGO Technic 42100 Liebherr R 9800 set in Nuremberg, let’s see what is the surprise for this year!
Just received the news from zusammengebaut.com, the successor of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Bugatti Chiron will be a Lamborghini supercar in 1:8 scale available from the 1st of June!
I did a research recently to find the cheapest smartphone that you can buy new and works perfectly with the different LEGO applications, here’s the video about it:
There’s a Black Friday deal available for the phone in the video and also a slightly better one:

Xiaomi Redmi 8A for $87 at Gearbest with the coupon GBRMI8A01 – Click here!
UPDATE – The bug was fixed in version 1.0.3 of the Control+ app
When you are building the LEGO Technic 42100 Liebherr R 9800 set the app has a verification process built in after every batch of bags. This is a great addition because you can see whether the motors built in are working correctly or not.
Unfortunately there’s a bug in the current version as of 05/10/2019 (version 1.0.2 on both Android and iOS ), after the second batch of bags at page 367 you should only have one XL motor (color code red) connected to the hub in the superstructure.
