The 75253 LEGO Star Wars BOOST Droid Commander set was unveiled in May and we expected it to be available from the 1st of September.
Yesterday the designer video was released for the set , you can hear some interesting information about the design process:
Surprisingly after the release of the video the set became available at the US LEGO Shop@Home site for $199.99! Unfortunately the rest of the world still has it listed as “coming soon”.
The corresponding app is released as well for iOS and Android, if you have the Boost hub you can give it a try and test how the droids would behave, or you can even follow the instructions and build your own scrapyard version of the droids!
One of the most requested accessory for Powered Up is an adapter cable that works with the Power Functions components. We are still not sure if it will come officially, but actually it’s not that difficult to make your own – unfortunately you have to sacrifice some parts for it. The LEGO Fan Media Days started yesterday in Billund and the lucky participants already had a very interesting session with the Powered Up team. As it was reported by The Rambling Brick and Brickset, the team shared a presentation about the Powered Up system and they had a chance to see some of the Control+ (Technic Powered Up) components we did not see previously. UPDATE #3 – According to zusammengebaut.com LEGO Germany confirmed that the release of the set will be delayed until October 2019 because of some production problems of certain parts. This delay does not affect the other Technic sets scheduled for August.
