The LEGO 10277 Crocodile Locomotive is inspired by the Class Ce 6/8 II locomotive, first built for the Swiss Federal Railways between 1919 and 1927. The LEGO 10277 Crocodile Locomotive has official motorization instuctions with Powered Up components. As many of us still have mostly Power Functions parts, I tested the locomotive with the following components:
- Power Functions AAA Battery Box (88000) or Rechargeable Battery Box (8878)
- Power Functions IR reciever (8884)
- Power Functions IR remote (8885) or IR Speed remote (8879)
- Power Functions Medium Motor (8883)
- Power Functions Large Motor (88003)
- BuWizz unit
To fit the Power Functions IR components I had to change the roof of the central unit. I did not have the parts for a proper custom solution, so I only used the pieces found in the set. This is more like a proof of concept, feel free to use to make your own version:
