LEGO Technic 42093 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 unboxing, speed build and details

My first review of the LEGO Technic 2019 sets! Unboxing, Speed build and detailed review about the LEGO Technic 42093 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. It is a fairly small set with only a few functions, but the big question is – does it look like the real thing? Check out the details in the video!

The set comes in a smaller box. It has 6 unnumbered bags inside, the manual and the sticker sheet without extra protection.

The set has 579 pieces, the price is 39,99 € / $49.99. This is the part list:

Build time was 70 minutes. Here are a few photos of the building process:

The standard Technic engine parts are too big for this set, there’s a small brick built V8 in the front.

The steering mechanism is simple but effective

Only a few extra pieces provided

This is the new wheel arch panel compared to the one fron 42056 and 42096

Here is the Corvette with the 42075 First Responder for size comparison

As you can see the set is really small, therefore there are not much details that can be replicated.

The front is the most problematic area. The lights and the hood are ok and there are some clever connections, but the whole front end does not look like the real one.

If these pieces could be integrated I think the front would look much better.

You can see the differential from this perspective and the skinny tires

These tires are the same as the ones on the London Bus, the other is on the Creator Mini and other smaller Technic sets

You can see the difference below how does it look like if we swap the rear tires

The doors are fixed, they cannot be opened. If we remove them and some other panels you can see how clever is the structure at the rear to mimic the real car’s ascending rear.

Summary

– The set has a decent look considering the scale

– Build experience is nice, functions are basic but the car is well playable

– The overall shape of the Corvette is present but the front of the car is not recognizable

– Could have been a better choice to release it as a generic sports car instead of a branded one
